Super Trifecta Bowl VII

For Season VII, we updated the Rules for Home Team Claims to start Super Trifecta Bowl (STB) VII. Twelve of fourteen playoff teams may be Claimed and only one Analyst with No Claim will run in STB VII.

At season end, the STB VII Home Team Claims Order is:

(8) Big Tuna (7th AoY) | NEW CLAIM
(9) B-Reezy (tied-8th AoY) | NEW CLAIM
(10) Roxy Trot (10th AoY) | Rams (NFC #6)

The Analysts with Claims to Home Teams have the option to hold or release end-of-season Home Teams. New Claims will be made in the order above from 1 to 12.

Headed down the homestretch, Sponge Mom seemed unstoppable. Her Home Team 49ers had shut down Craft Brew‘s Home Team Chiefs for three quarters. Half way through the fourth quarter, victory was almost certain…Unless her steed spit the bit!

Then Pat-demonium (or Pat-Mahomes-ium) break lose, and the Chiefs closed the final leg like the great Secretariat! But, would it be enough to lift Craft Brew, or was the fix in?

The Winner of Super Trifecta Bowl VI is…The Bookie!

Based on the Titanic run of an Un-Claimed dark horse and one *lame* Trifecta, The Bookie at 21 points crosses the finish line 2 lengths ahead of Craft Brew at 19 points. Craft Brew had the only – only – *base* Trifecta of the postseason and 8 points from his Home Team, but he took only 3 of the 6 possible Reverse PC-Fecta points in the Division and Championship Round.

Sponge Mom, for the second time this season, lost her advantage in the final leg of a race. She nonetheless makes The Winner’s Circle with a Show at 17 points (on first tiebreaker, Trifecta points).

Also at 17 points, Big Tuna moves past Little Tuna for fourth place. The early leader, Wise Orangutan finishes in sixth place at 15 points.

At 10 points each, Atwork edges out KateTDid on the second tiebreaker (Playoff Victory points) for seventh place. B-Reezy finishes in ninth place at 9 points, followed by Woody in tenth place with 7 points.

The three Analysts whose Home Teams failed to get a win in the playoffs bring up the rear. Jimmy V the martyred Saint ends in eleventh place (6 points), Roxy Trot Patriotically finishes in twelfth place (5 points), and The Strategist is still Raven-mad about her Home Team swoon in last place (4 points).

Super Trifecta Bowl VI

After a slow start in the Wildcard Round, Sponge Mom has charged from the back of the field to tie The Bookie and Little Tuna at 17 points each!

By virtue of first tiebreaker (6 vs. 0), Base Trifecta points, Sponge Mom^ has captured the lead and she now controls her destiny the 49ers now control her destiny! The Bookie and Little Tuna continue to run in a dead heat, now in second place, but The Bookie has the inside lane due to her 1 Correct Pick at the top of the home stretch.

Craft Brew, who also had a slow start in the Wildcard Round, moves into a tie with Big Tuna at 13 Trifecta points. Craft Brew holds fourth place due to first tiebreaker (6 vs. 0) and remains in contention for the Win or Place.

Wise Orangutan continues to fall down the leader board, now in sixth place with 11 points after another disappointing week. KateTDid remains in seventh place with 10 Trifecta points, one length ahead of B-Reezy (9 Trifecta points) in eighth place.

With a *lame* Trifecta to start the Championship Round, Woody moves up to ninth place with 7 Trifecta points while Jimmy V (6 points) takes tenth place over Atwork (6 points) in eleventh position on first tiebreaker (6 vs. 0). At the back of the field, The Strategist and Roxy Trot share last place with 4 points each and no clear tiebreaker.

^ Sponge Mom‘s totals include 3 Reverse PC-Fecta points which can lose to Craft Brew if his Home Team wins The Game Which Shall Not Be Named with a score of 38+ offense and/or 19- defense. Her final score may decrease by 1 to 3 points.

The Bookie and Little Tuna surge into the lead on the unlikely playoff victories of the Titans! After a risky gambit in the divisional round, both Analysts have 17 Trifecta points in a dead heat. Big Tuna catches the Crimson fever and rides Henry to third place with 13 points.

Wise Orangutan slips into fourth place with 11 points after unadvisably jumping on board the Vikings rowboat. B-Reezy wisely abandoned ship on his Home Team, but failed to find space on a set of winning steeds. He falls into fifth place with 9 Trifecta points. Sponge Mom finally strikes gold with the 49ers and moves into sixth place with 8 Trifecta points. .

Craft Brew moves into seventh place with 7 Trifecta points, edging out KateTDid with 7 Trifecta points based on second tiebreaker (Playoff Victory points). Atwork drives his Packers into 9th place with 6 Trifecta points.

At the back of the field, The Strategist, Roxy Trot, and Woody vie for tenth place with 4 Trifecta points, with Jimmy V trailing closely with 3 Trifecta points!

Wise Orangutan jumps out to the early lead with a *lame* Trifecta, Home Team upset, and a Player Hater shocker! At 11 points, he leads by two lengths over B-Reezy whose Home Team delivered 6 Super Trifecta points on top of his *lame* Trifecta. In third, KateTDid, at 7 Trifecta points, secured the only other *lame* Trifecta (first tiebreaker) and four upset Seeder Redux points.

Following closely, The Bookie and Little Tuna little share fourth place with 7 Trifecta points. In sixth place, Big Tuna with 3 Trifecta points rounds out the top half of the field after Leg 1.

The rest of the field struggled to break hard from the gates as six Analysts finished the first Leg with 1 point each. All six are in a dead heat with 1 Seeder Redux point. Jimmy V trails the field with 0 points after his Home Team fell to a barbarian onslaught led by cousins of the Vikings!

Home Team Claims

According to the Rules Revisions for Season V, only eight Analysts will Claim Home Teams during the Super Trifecta Bowl:

Season V Rules: Only eight of twelve playoff teams competing for the World Football Championship may be owned at the start of the Super Trifecta Bowl. The top eight Analysts from the regulars season will have a claim for ownership in this order: 1) Analyst of the Year, 2) Seeder’s Cup Winner, 3) Fibonacci Stakes Winner, 4) Player Haters Winner, 5) PC-Fecta Derby Winner, 6) Place in the Analyst of the Year, 7) Show in the Analyst of the Year, and 8) from 4th-8th position in the Analyst of the Year until eight teams are owned by Analysts. Analysts who finish out of the top eight positions will not own a team during the Super Trifecta Bowl.

If the Season ended today, Seeding for the Super Trifecta Bowl VI would be:

Down the home stretch, Jimmy V gave it his all to overtake Craft Brew. A dominating defense secured both the offensive and defensive Reverse PC-Fecta points (3) in the Championship round. But was it enough??? The winner of Super Trifecta Bowl V is….

Craft Brew! With 14 points, Craft Brew jumped out of the gates and ran a steady race on the track (5-4-5 points). After a slow start, Jimmy V closed strong to finish with 13 points for Place! Both leaders had a 2-point Trifecta in the Divisional round and 5 Playoff Victory points total. Jimmy V collected 4 Reverse PC-Fecta points in the final two rounds, but Craft Brew’s 5 points on Player Haters and Seeder Redux in the Wildcard round gave him the one length victory.

Completing the Winner’s Circle with the Show, B-Reezy (7) noses out Little Tuna (7) on tiebreaker: a 2-point Trifecta in the Divisional round.

In fifth, Big Tuna (5) edges past Sponge Mom (5) on tiebreaker: a 2-point Trifecta in the Divisional round. The Strategist and Wise Orangutan finish in a dead heat for seventh place at 4 points and no definitive tiebreaker. The Bookie (2) takes ninth position, followed by Roxy Trot (1) and Atwork (0) at the rear.
