A most excellent week for the Analysts as — for the first time this season (!) — a majority (9 of 17) earn Trifectas in a single week! All but three Analysts are now off the schneid. And (we never thought we would write these words this late in a season)…

Bookie has moved into a tie for first place with Mo Money at 3 Trifectas each. Mo Money holds the inside rail with 18 Correct Picks on the season, but Bookie’s 16 Correct Picks is the second best total in the WFTL!

In the battle for third place at 2 Trifectas each, Sponge Mom (14), The Strategist (14), and KateTDid (14) have the advantage over Jimmy V (13).

The middle of the field is crowded with eight Analysts at 1 Trifecta each. Craft Brew (16), Roxy Trot (15), B-Reezy (14), and Boo Boo (14) have the inside rail over Woody (12), Wise Orangutan (12), Big Tuna (11), and Bug Bug (10).

Little Tuna, Atwork and Wreck It Ralph form the back of the field — none have yet to earn a Trifecta in this terribly difficult season! We think we would be beating a dead horse if were to mention that a poo-flinging monkey is likely to get 1 Trifecta if given 8 opportunities (12%)…So we will just leave that un-noted.

Player Haters Preakness IX

Through the near turn, (most of ) the Analysts find their footing and charge into the final stretch! But Leg 4 goes to the leader who padded the distance with the rest of the field!

Bookie (27 points) pulls further away from Bug Bug (18 points) to take a commanding lead in first place! Bookie also has a first tiebreaker over Bug Bug in second place after the 49ers beat the Rams in Leg 3. If they finish in a tie for the lead, Bookie will take the Preakness Crown!

In a tie at 15 points each, Sponge Mom (9 points), Mo Money (9 points), and Wise Orangutan contend for third place. Sponge Mom leads with 1 Correct Home Team Pick, followed by Wise O. with 1.0 forced turnovers per game (ftpg) a nose ahead of Mo Money with 0.3 ftpg.

Jockeying for sixth place with 12 points each, Roxy Trot, B-Reezy, Craft Brew, and Little Tuna remain within striking distance of the Winners’ Circle. Roxy Trot holds the advantage with 2 Correct Home Team Picks, followed by B-Reezy (1 Correct Home Team Pick), Craft Brew (0) and Little Tuna (0).

The remainder of the field is 18 points behind the leader and 9 points behind second place. In order to reach the Winners’ Circle, the following Analysts need at least a 12-point Player Haters Trifecta.

At 9 points each, Jimmy V, Woody, KateTDid, Boo Boo and Wreck It Ralph are in tenth position. Woody has the edge with 2 Correct Home Team Picks, followed by KateTDid (1), Wreck It Ralph (1), Jimmy V (0), and Boo Boo (0).

Big Tuna, The Strategist, and Atwork each have 6 points at the back of the field. The are eliminated from the Win, but can still chase Place with a 12- or 18-point Trifecta. But rather, the three former Analysts of the Year might want to dwell on their former glory days!
