Jimmy V extends his new record for Trifectas in a season (12) and sets a new record for Correct Picks (44) in a single season! He is our Season VIII Analyst of the Year! He beats his nearest competitor by 3 full Trifectas!!!

In the final stretch, Mo Money gave Sponge Mom a run for Place. The Patriots spit the bit, however, and Sponge Mom (9 Trifectas and 43 Correct Picks) holds on to Place! Mo Money (9 Trifectas and 39 Correct Picks) in her first season finishes in the Winner’s Circle with a Show.

Roxy Trot quietly finished with a strong season! She had 8 Trifectas and 40 Correct Picks to take sole possession of fourth place. Woody (7 Trifectas and 40 Correct Picks) ends in fifth place, nosing out B-Reezy (7 Trifectas and 38 Correct Picks) in sixth place. With a record four straight seasons in the top half of the field, Craft Brew (6 Trifectas and 38 Correct Picks) somehow emerges from the back of the field to take 7th position!

He edged out Little Tuna (6 Trifectas and 36 Correct Picks) who leads the back of the field in eighth place. The Strategist and Big Tuna (both 5 Trifectas and 37 Correct Picks) end in a tie for ninth place.

That leaves the race to the bottom of the field and the opportunity to become the Analysts with no Claim in the Super Trifecta Bowl!!!

All four of the remaining Analysts fought to the very end to become Analysts with No Claim as none earned a 4th Trifecta in the final week. KateTDid (37 Correct Picks) and Wise Orangutan makes a move (35 Correct Picks) squeeze out eleventh and twelfth place — both have a Claim in STB VIII! Bookie (33 Correct Picks) and Atwork (32 Correct Picks) head to the post-season without a steed, but comfort in the knowledge that they Claim first to start Season IX!

Entering the Home Stretch, Sponge Mom had 32 points and a 4 point lead over the closest competition. She used strategery to Box Out the field by taking both the Titans and Chiefs to Win. The Patriots and Rams lost, however, and Little Tuna aimed to sneak past with a Cardinals Win…Could the Cardiac Cards foil Sponge Mom’s second chance at a Win this season…..

Sponge Mom (42 Trifecta Points) ekes out the Win! — Her first Seeders’ Cup! Little Tuna (38 Trifecta Points) sprinted around the final three Legs to claim Place. She edges out Roxy Trot (35 Trifecta Points) in Show after she played for the Chiefs to clinch the #1 AFC Seed.

Boxed Out by Roxy Trot, Craft Brew (34 Trifecta Points) surges into fourth place. B-Reezy and Woody (33 Trifecta Points each) finish in fifth and sixth place, respectively, with B-Reezy nosing her out by virtue of 1 Correct Home Team Pick. Jimmy V (32 Trifecta Points) rounds out the top half of the field.

Sponge Mom (32 points) has a four point lead over her closest competitor — more than a *lame* Trifecta or division title (each 3 points). Wise Orangutan (28 points) and B-Reezy (27 points) round out the leader board, but over half of the field is within 12 points of the current leader.

All Analysts are eligible for the *bonus* points awarded to teams that clinch better playoff seeding. The leaders then have the advantage of Boxing Out the Analysts who trail them. Fortunately, there are literally hundreds of permutations for Pick Threes worth 17 or more points!

Pick 49ers control their own destiny over Saints (not a Pick option)

Pick Colts, Steelers, or Ravens

The maximum points are 19 for a *base* Trifecta that Correctly Picks the #1 Seed in the AFC, the AFC East Division Winner, and the NFC West Division Winner — UNLESS the Patriots take the #1 Seed in the AFC then the maximum is 17 points. Other combinations will yield less, but still may be enough to surpass the current leaders.

Coming around the near turn, the Analysts set a blistering pace as half of the field adds double-digit Trifecta points to their totals!

Sponge Mom (32 Trifecta Points) widens her lead over the competition with a *base* Trifecta with 10 *bonus* points. She takes a 4 points lead into the home stretch over her closest rival, Wise Orangutan (28 Trifecta Points) who tripled his total with a 19-point *base* Trifecta in Leg 3. After two solid weeks, B-Reezy (27 Trifecta Points) climbs breezily into third place.

None of the leaders, however have a comfortable lead over the middle of the field!

In fourth place, Roxy Trot (26 Trifecta Points) separates from the rest of the field. Craft Brew and Little Tuna (25 Trifecta Points each) vie for fifth place. Both have 2 Correct Home Team Picks and 16 Seeder points after three Legs, so it’s a dead heat! Not far behind, Jimmy V (23 Trifecta Points) holds seventh place, trailed by Big Tuna (22 Trifecta Points) in eighth and Woody (20 Trifecta Points) in ninth.

In the back of the field, KateTDid (15 Trifecta Points) and Bookie (14 Trifecta Points) remain mathematically alive for the Win and Place from tenth and eleventh position. Atwork and Mo Money (13 Trifecta Points) are also able to close the distance on Sponge Mom down the home stretch, but it may take something of a miracle for either to Win or Place.

And, lastly, The Strategist (11 Trifecta Points) has been eliminated from the Win, but remains mathematically alive for the Place with an extraordinarily strategic Pick Three — more extraordinarily strategic than last week in any case!

Jimmy V sets a new record for Trifectas in a season (11) and ties the record for Correct Picks (41)! With one week to go, he has all but finished in the lead for Analyst of the Year!

Place remains a toss up headed into Week 18. Sponge Mom (9 Trifectas and 41 Correct Picks – also tying the season record!) holds onto a 4 Correct Pick lead over Mo Money (9 Trifectas and 37 Correct Picks) in third place. Sponge Mom needs a Trifecta to stay ahead comfortably, but if she busts, Mo Money could outpace her to 10 Trifectas and Place!

At 7 Trifectas each — a solid season and enough to Win the first three seasons! — Woody (38 Correct Picks), Roxy Trot (37 Correct Picks), and B-Reezy (33 Correct Picks) hold fourth, fifth and sixth place. Little Tuna (6 Trifectas and 34 Correct Picks) holds seventh place, a spot in the top half of the field.

Craft Brew, The Strategist, and Big Tuna (each with 5 Trifectas and 35 Correct Picks) are in a dead heat for eighth place. If Craft Brew does not surpass Little Tuna, it will be the first year he ever finishes in the bottom half of the field (he has the current active record of consecutive top-half finishes). These three also are at no risk of losing Claims in the playoffs.

The remaining Analysts with 3 Trifectas each are in a contest to finish in eleventh or twelfth place in order to avoid losing a Claim in the Super Trifecta Bowl! KateTDid (35 Correct Picks) currently holds eleventh place. Wise Orangutan makes a move (34 Correct Picks) to reach twelfth place. Leaving Atwork and Bookie (31 Correct Picks) tied in the race to the bottom of the list as the Analysts with No Claim in the playoffs!
